How To Get Your Uber Driver Account Restored After Getting Deactivated: Steps To Driver Reactivation

It is Uber's primary goal to make sure drivers and riders are safe, comfortable, and satisfied with the ride. Due to these same reasons, Uber has established some ground rules and community guidelines for drivers and riders. And your Uber account can be deactivated if you violate these regulations or commit any misconduct.

Signs Your Uber Account Is Deactivated

Uber either sends you an email stating that your account has been deactivated. Reasons for this are many, and they happen without warning. Another way to get notified is through your app screen when you receive a message saying, "Your account needs attention."

Generally, this message indicates that your account is disabled or in the process of being deactivated.

Reasons for Account Deactivation

You will be automatically deactivated if you are offline for 90 days or more. Besides this, other reasons for deactivation include:

  • signing up on multiple devices

  • entering incorrect or inconsistent credit card details

  • violating the terms and conditions

  • opening multiple accounts with the same phone number

  • using the same email address in other Uber accounts

  • not paying bills on time

However, no need to panic as you can get your account up and running again.

How to Reactivate Your Uber Account

In general, reactivating your account will depend on the original reason for its deactivation. Unless there is fraud involved, it is unlikely that you will be able to reactivate your account. If your account has been deactivated due to minor reasons, such as signing up on multiple devices, there are ways to reactivate it.

First Method

You can contact Uber Customer Support via email. In the email, enter the subject line 'My Uber account is suspended.' Then explain the circumstances of your account suspension and provide a government-issued ID card. Your account would need to be re-verified if you activated it more than a year ago. After sending the email, you will have to wait for Uber. Uber will review your Uber account after they receive your email. After reviewing your email, they will send you the confirmation. Keep an eye on your email. You will receive an activation email within a few days.

Second Method

  1. Visit the Uber website and register with a different mobile number and email address.

  2. From Google Play or the App Store, download the Uber app.

  3. Using the same number and email address as step one, open an Uber account.

  4. Once you've confirmed your OPT, click on 'forgot password''.

  5. A password reset link will be sent to you so that you can set a new password.

  6. With the latest details, log in to the Uber app.

  7. Go to the settings menu on the dashboard.

  8. Change the mobile number to the disabled account in the account settings.

  9. Once you receive the OPT, confirm it.

  10. Your Uber account is reactivated.

Alternatives

In the event that the above steps do not work, what should you do? You can also reactivate your account using other methods. They are as follows;

  • Phone Number: Contact Uber Customer Support by calling their toll-free number. You can get help with account reactivation and any other Uber inquiries here quickly and easily.

  • Online help pages: On Facebook and Twitter, Uber has a help center. If you have a problem, you can post it here, and one of their agents will respond to you through chat.
